I already have the faxtalk messenger 7.2 installed on a sprint phone line. I want to do away with the phone line and use vonage. Is this possible, and if so what must I add to get vonage to trigger my Creative V92 external modem so that it will use faxtalk answering.

FaxTalk Messenger uses Windows TAPI based Caller ID and Distinctive Ring. AFAIK win2k+ TAPI no longer supports CD/DR. So how did you get it to work? Using Win 9x/ME or something?

I’ve got home theater people churning money at my home right now at a rate of 85 dollars per hour. They’re trying to talk me into getting an Elan system with comm controller for around 12 thousand dollars. That’s wway more than I want to spend.
Features I want: View security cameras through its LCD screen, talk to whomever’s at the front gate or front door (while I’m looking at their picture), trigger open the gate and/or door on my command. I also need a 6 station intercom.
I already have a nice audio controller with fm radio and cd changer. I just want to upgrade the pads to LCD and add intercom and control. Can someone point me in the right direction?

yea faxtalk is nice. weve got about 50+ fax lines at work and most of the users have faxtalk software to interact with it. great stuff for handling multiple jobs with attachments.
