Hi there! I started mavromatic to chronicle all the stuff I'm currently up to. I'm a technogeek that mods, hacks, creates and breaks all sorts of different things. I usually do this all for fun or because what I want is either too expensive or not available.
Even though technology excites me, rarely is there a perfect gadget or invention... so far I have found things to be almost there, like the iPod and
TiVo Windows Media Center, but nothing that has everything I want. The TiVo is strong at what it does, but lacks an easy way to transfer and share videos. Yes, I have hacked my TiVo and installed TiVoWeb... it's great, but not perfect. That's what the little radar with a peace sign in the middle of the "O" in the logo signifies, that technology devices haven't quite made peace with each other... why do we have so many incompatible devices/services? As this changes... so will the logo... use it as a guide as to how I feel trends are going.
I will try to post about the Home automation server I'm currently writing, along with the devices I'm interfacing. I've done a lot of research and I feel I have a pretty robust solution at a reasonable cost. I hope to keep adding entries about Home theaters, this is my passion... I strive for the best experience and quality, some of my co-workers think I'm crazy or too extreme... but if it can be had, then why not have it?
Regards,
Danny Mavromatis
