New HAI Access Control Keypad

Related Entries: Home Automation
HAI has just announced that they will be adding a new keypad to their lineup. The 54A00-1 is a weatherproof and vandal resistant keypad designed to work with their OmniPro line of automation controllers. The keypad features piezoelectric buttons that work by tapping the surface (doesn’t require physical movement), it even works with a snow-covered glove on! I would highly recommend this keypad to any one that would like to give individual access codes to visitors (gardner, contractor, kids) that are enabled at certain programmed hours of the day. The casing is make out of stainless steel and houses two LED’s that illuminate when the security system in armed and disarmed. The unit should be shipping soon, so ask you installer for more info.

I would really like to see HAI come out with a RFID based access control system… piezoelectric keypads are so 1990’s technology…

Coupled with iAutomate’s add-on RFID kit for Homeseer (and the Homeseer with the HAI plugin) you can do just what you want…
