Russound CAA66 and Other CEDIA Announcements

Related Entries: Home Automation

So the folks over at Russound have been busy developing new products and here’s a list of the stuff really worth checking out.

- ComPoint — a true intercom system with elegant keypads and door stations. It also integrates nicely with most multiroom audio systems.
- ST2S — an updated ST2 Smart Dual Tuner which adds SIRUS Satellite radio to the mix.
- CAA66 (pictured) — the new CAA66 sets the new standard for affordable multiroom controller amplifiers. It’s expandable to 36 zones, its six sources are available to any of six zones. The CAA66’s advanced features such as bass, treble, balance, volume and loudness adjustability make it a perfect choice for a multiroom audio solution. It doesn’t feature video switching/distribution so its a low cost alternative to the CAV66 (notice the V for video).
- iBridge System — I’m actually looking forward to purchasing this product for my own personal use. The iBridge is Russound’s interface that connects an Apple iPod to the Russound RNET components like the CAV66. The iBridge will allow me to access and control my iPod thru the UNO S2 keypads throughout my home.

I don’t have any pricing yet, since this stuff was just announced. However, I will update this as soon as I find out more… particularly the iBridge System.

UPDATE: The iBridge dock and connector will be available sometime December 2005 and the price to be announced closer to release.
