EPSON MovieMate 25 — Home Theater Projector-In-A-Box

Have you ever wondered why companies call their all-in-one surround system a “Home-Theater-In-A-Box”, when it doesn’t include the most critial part of a home theater… the projector? Well, EPSON just did the opposite with the MovieMate 25. It’s a projector, that acts like a home entertainment center. This all-in-one combo includes pretty much everything you need, sans the surround sound system — just stereo with a subwoofer. Plug it in, load a DVD, set up the screen and throw some popcorn in the microwave! It plays multiple video, audio and photo formats with its built-in JVC DVD/CD player and stereo speakers. A 40 W subwoofer is included, along with an illuminated remote control. Plus, an 80” pull-up, floor standing, 16:9 format screen that stores into a compact case for easy storage.

Now, don’t expect this “enhanced definition” (480p) system to perform as well as a $20,000 HD 3-chip DLP projector — if you can’t tell the difference between a home theater-in-a-box and highend separates, then this $1,200 package is for you!
