Nokia N770, Great For Home Automation Control

Nokia N770 running HAI Web-Link II
I’m always looking for new ways to control my home automation system, this time it’s actually very economical. Buy.com is offering the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet for $140 and with this device, I can access my automation system via rdesktop (RDP or Remote Desktop) client or directly via HTTP (webpage). The device has an excellent screen and is a great size to carry around the house. The unit also runs Flash 6 so I can use it with my custom automation controller UI.

What do you think of the n800 besides price?
David,
Good question. I haven’t used the N800 yet, so I don’t know how much better it is over the N770. If you find out more, please post here.

Here’s the latest news:
Nokia just added Skype, plus Flash 9 and 8GB memory card support. They also increased the battery life.
David,
Wow… that’s an improvement!

Very interesting… Does the Weblink-II software work as-is with the built-in browser on the 770, or did you have to modify anything? HAI says they only support Explorer.
Thanks
