SAVICON has the right idea, take a Viewsonic v210 (they call it the ‘E-Pad’), write a custom application for it in C#.NET, and a server to communicate with (The Entergrator Media Server), and you’ve got yourself a pretty “entegrated” system. The Entegrator comes bundled with the E-pad and offers a compact and simple to use home entertainment system which can be used to manage movies, music, television, gaming, digital photos, home movies and internet content of all types. Since the system runs XP, SAVICON can stay update date will all the codecs and technologies as soon as they are available for Windows. The E-Pad uses standard 802.11b, so you don’t need to run any wires to the main unit.
I think this is a new company, since this is the first I’ve ever heard of them, but they are on the right track. They can even custom paint your case if you are so inclined. A complete system ranges from $9900-$14000, depending on the configuration.
