I’ve never heard of Acesonic, but if I were a gambling man, I’d bet they are real big in the Chinese Karaoke market. They make a bunch of Karaoke machines, but one in particular caught my attention. The K-Box Digital Jukebox Karaoke System. It has a built in DVD Reader and a 120GB Hard Drive which allows you to rip down pretty much any format the device plays back (VCD, DVD, DAT, MPG, VOB, MP3 and includes built-in 5.1-channel Dolby Digital, AC-3 DTS and HDCD decoders). I don’t know what the DVD ripping laws are in China, but the DVD CCA made it clear last week that ripping and storing CSS’d DVD’s is illegal here in the states. They slapped Kaleidescape with a lawuit even though they had a license from them. The K-Box sells for $799
