However, I have seen a few DLP projectors that I’d recommend to someone that doesn’t want to deal with the converging of CRT guns or the bulkiness. A new company called Brillian Corporation has begun marketing its 65-inch Gen II liquid-crystal-on-silicon (LCoS) HDTVs technology to a limited number of local Phoenix A/V dealers and if all goes well, then later this summer, the HDTVs will be marketed under private label by Brillian’s first national retail channel partner. The new technology developed by Brillian is manufactured in the U.S., and it’s patent-pending Gen II LCoS technology will first be offered in a 65-inch, 16:9 widescreen with artifact-free, full-motion video, making it the highest contrast (up to 2000:1) LCOS rear-projection TV available today. Hopefully, it won’t be long before they put their technology into a front projector system… allowing me to put my CRT projector to the test.
